Education

Education in Jersey is provided under the terms of the Education (Jersey) Law 1999. There is a wide range of schools on the Island and provision is of a high standard with examination results equivalent to the upper quartile of UK Education Authorities.

Full time compulsory Education begins at the start of the term in which children have their 5th birthday and continues until the 30 June of the school year in which they have their 16th birthday.

In addition to compulsory education sixth form education is available at five schools with a wide variety of academic and vocational courses being offered at Highlands College of Further Education.
